(FIRST DETERMINE IF YOU HAVE A 5TH GEN OR A 5.5 GEN)
For 5th Generation iPods ONLY (if u have a 5.5 gen scroll down):
Step 1: Download Cygnus Hex Editor Free Edition
Step 2: Extract the Firmware from your iPod using ipodpatcher or ipodwizard 1.2d (ipodwizard 1.3 has a bug with extracting the firmware)
Step 3: Open the Firmware in Cygnus Hex Editor
Step 4: Now click the Go To Button and click hexadecimal then type in 00133C34 and click OK now it should take you to 96 00 00 1A just replace that with 00 00 A0 E1
Step 5: Again click the Go To Button and click hexadecimal then type in 00133C44 and click OK now it should take you to 92 00 00 1A just replace that with 00 00 A0 E1
Step 6: Again click the Go To Button and click hexadecimal then type in 00133C5C and click OK now it should take you to 8C 00 00 0A just replace that with 00 00 A0 E1
Step 7: Continue that for the following Go To's (A.K.A. Offsets): 00133E54 ,00133E60 , 00133E8C
Step 8: Click File--> Save
Now Scroll down to see how to recalculate the checksum.
For 5.5 Generation iPods ONLY (if u have a 5th gen scroll up):
Step 1: Download Cygnus Hex Editor Free Edition

Step 4: Now click the Go To Button and click hexadecimal then type in 00134634 and click OK now it should take you to 96 00 00 1A just replace that with 00 00 A0 E1
Step 5: Again click the Go To Button and click hexadecimal then type in 00134644 and click OK now it should take you to 92 00 00 1A just replace that with 00 00 A0 E1
Step 6: Again click the Go To Button and click hexadecimal then type in 0013465C and click OK now it should take you to 8C 00 00 0A just replace that with 00 00 A0 E1
Step 7: Continue that for the following Go To's (A.K.A. Offsets): 00134854, 00134860, 0013488C
Step 8: Click File--> Save
Now Scroll down to see how to recalculate the checksum.
RECALCULATING THE CHECKSUM:
Step 1: open ipw and load the firmware you just edited
Step 2: now if you look in the top left box there will be a box called firmware information
Step 3: inside that little box youll see a tab called # which has numbers underneath (you might have to scroll down to see all the numbers)
Step 4: now there should be another tab called status which has ok or read-only underneath it
Step 5: what you need to do is scroll through all the numbers and whenever you see read only right click and click fix checksum
Step 6: when you are done fixing the checksums click the write button.
Step 7: Now load the Firmware back to your ipod and you should now be able to have your theme or whatever and be able to play the games!! Enjoy!!!
